Well, Lillie and I have been running. We are slow and steady. I load Lill into her car seat and then pop her in the BOB Stroller. A lifesaver, makes running so much easier. I load my tunes (only use one headphone, so I can hear) and I load my C25K. Away we go.
I have been struggling with shoe/sock issues for quite awhile. Actually since last year when I got new shoes. So, my right sock kept slipping down into my shoe.(Remember walking last summer Janet?) I tried different socks, same problem. It wasn't such a big deal. When I began walking after pregnancy, both socks began slipping. Annoying. Then I began running and both socks slipping and blisters on both heels.
I tried bandaids, no go.
I tried new socks, no go.
I tried a heel pad, nope
I tried moleskin, no go.
The blisters were getting worse and more painful. I *knew* the problem was shoes. I just hated to buy new shoes. But I did it yesterday, and they should be delivered tomorrow. I am giving my heels until Friday to heal up a bit.
So, the moral of this story is:
Just because you get a pair of $200 dollar shoes for $30 bucks. If they aren't your normal brand, be prepared for issues. Just because they are cheap doesn't mean that they will work for you! I should have bought them and donated them.
I am back to Mizzuno's and I can't wait! Training for half marathon Oct 2013 back in business!
I purposely didn't mention the brand of shoes caused blisters because it is a very good brand and works well for some people, just not me.

2 Months {Edited}
I can't believe my baby girl is 2 months old already! As much as I love the newborn cuddlebug, I am loving watching her blossom. Her little personality is showing and she definitely inherited a lack of patience and temper from two people I know...not mentioning any names.
Let's see in her second month...she met her great-grandparents, went to work with mommy, had her first Derby Day, she was baptized, she moved up to size 2 diapers, discovered her hands, loves to look at herself in the mirror. She has started watching Chloe's Closet on Sprout. She still loves the Baby Bjorn, she takes 6 ounces of formula every 4-ish hours, she loves her wubanub, Sophie the giraffe and her piano activity mat. She has started running with mommy.
She weighs 13 lbs 7.5 ounces and is 23.5 inches long.
She is such a sweetheart. She loves her mommy and daddy very much.

Running!
Well, since this blog is supposed to be about being a Mommy and running. I guess I should post something about running huh!
I didn't have a great first trimester while pregnant, and running was taken off the table so to speak. I was on bed rest for some of the first trimester. and then the doctor said I should not run at all, really she would prefer me not to walk. I was allowed to swim. We haven't joined the Y yet, so my exercise was climbing the three flights of steps each day once I started working. I did it up until I began working from home.
So, once Lillie made her entrance I was more than ready to get back in the walking/running scene. Lillie and I went walking many days as I explored several distances from the house, so I could have a 'plan' once given the go ahead to begin running.
Two weeks ago, I saw the doctor and was told I could resume all activities prior to pregnancy/delivery. Amen. I could run!
I deliberated on how to start back. I knew I wanted to go slow as I need to adapt to running while holding on to the jogging stroller. (BTW - If you are in the market for a jogging stroller and are a serious runner or like to run decent distances....please spend the money and get the BOB Ironman.)
I decided to go back to basics...I downloaded the Couch to 5k plan for my iphone. WOW! It is a big difference from when I began running in July, 2004 when I was on a track and using a stopwatch. This is a huge improvement. I turn it on and my music and I don't even have to think...I just walk/run and it tells me when to walk and when to run.
I am on week 2. So far I am feeling good. I hope it warms up enough to head out this afternoon.
My current goal is getting to a 5k at or better than my speed prior to pregnancy while running with the stroller. I want to do a 5k in June and then a half marathon in October. I found a women's only race "JUST RUN LIKE A GIRL" and at the finish they give you a bottle of Pinot Grigio. So I can wear my I run for wine shirt! perfect!

My First Mother's Day
I am so happy I was able to celebrate my first Mother's Day with my little Princess. We had a wonderful day. I woke up to presents and cards and most importantly that little smiling face.
We wore our matching I 'heart' Vera shirts! She has lots of Vera Baby already! I love the happy prints of Vera. so much fun!
My parents and brother came for dinner. We had prime rib, salad, potatoes, green beans, corn and rolls. I made brownies, but forgot about them. OOPS!
I think back on last year in the midst of fertility treatments how Mother's Day was so sad for me. My heart breaks for those who are walking down that path themselves. The wait made the day so much sweeter.
All the activity wore Lillian out. She slept from 9:00pm-4:45 and 5-? she is still sleeping.
Happy Mother's Day!

May...really? May?
I can't believe how fast time is flying now that Lillie is here. I thought time went so slow before but WOW! a blink and she is almost 6 weeks old.
She is just so precious, and really starting to show her personality. She gives awesome smiles! She wants to talk just hasn't found her voice quite yet.
She loves to be in her carrier! We actually bought a second one so Jeff can have one and we don't have to keep moving the straps. So far we have done laundry and some phone calls together.
Tomorrow starts a new phase. I go back to work. Since I haven't been there a year, I didn't qualify for FMLA. I did get six weeks off (no pay naturally and I didn't expect it) Thankfully, they are very pleased with the work I do and they are allowing me to work from home. We have it set up temporarily 60-90 days and then we will reassess. I plan to make these 60-90 days awesome so that it can be permanent. I need to get Lillie on a good schedule. What I am hoping for is her schedule to look like this:
7:00 wake up, diaper change - eat back to sleep
7:30 mommy start work
10:00 wake up, diaper change - play - tummy time, activity mat, swing
1:00 eat...nap.
2:30 - mommy finished with work
3:00 Lillie and Mommy go run errands/run
the rest of the day I really don't care about scheduling so much...just 7:30-2:30! they are going to be very flexible with me. but I need and want to do a great job.
